Why a yoga mat towel?

Who needs a towel?
A towel is useful with closed-cell mats such as the Manduka PRO, because they do not absorb sweat. It is also useful in the studio when you practice on a shared mat, because it gives you a personal, clean surface. It takes up little space in your bag.
A towel or a mat that absorbs moisture?
If you are still choosing a mat, you can pick a model with a surface that absorbs moisture itself, such as Liforme, YDL Infinity or YDL Combo. If you already have a mat that does not absorb sweat, a towel is the simpler and cheaper solution. Many people use both: a mat at home and a towel in the bag for the studio.
